I’ve been saving my top ten books of 2020 for today as that is the theme for the last Top Ten Tuesday of 2020. Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by ThatArtsyReaderGirl . You’ll find the rest of the topics listed on her page!
This is going to be a very tricky decision as I have enjoyed pretty much every book I’ve read this year. I don’t think I’m going to include rereads in this but we shall see! Also these are in no particular order, apart from House of Earth and Blood!

House of Earth and Blood has to be my number one for this year! I loved it so much. I think this was the first book I read in lockdown and I pretty much devoured it in one sitting!

Chain of Gold blew me away. I loved it. I think it may even be my favourite Cassandra Clare book, maybe. I just loved the story and the characters and cannot wait for Chain of Iron.

This conclusion omg! Supernova exceeded my expectations! I love Marissa Meyer as an author and she did not disappoint with this book! I waited a year between each of these books and it was well worth it.

Looking at my goodreads I have not read enough YA contemporary books this year as I would have liked to. But Meet Me At Midnight was one of my favourite reads this year! It has a bit of an enemies-to-lovers trope and a slow burn romance and I just absorbed the story. I loved it so much.

This book. Wow. I was hooked. I fell in love with the characters, the story, the world. A late addition to my top ten but it deserves its place! You can also check out my review here.

I remember reading Bone Crier’s Moon and thinking it was such a unique story. I have pre-ordered the next instalment and I cannot wait to read it and see where the author takes the story next!

Another favourite of this year! Before reading I had seen The Shadows Between Us everywhere and was worried that after the hype I wouldn’t enjoy it as much. But the book completely surprised me and went in a direction different to what I thought would happen! You can read my full review here.

I loved this retelling. I loved these characters. I have just finished The Violent Delights and it was amazing. The ending ohmygod. Now I have to wait another year for the sequel! So glad I managed to finish this before posting my top ten books of 2020!

How The King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories was a great read. The book itself and the art inside were stunning and the stories took me right back to the world and the characters that I adore. Despite only being a short novella, it deserves a spot in the top ten. You can read my full review here.

I loved Sorcery of Thorns. The library and magical books were the perfect setting for this story. The story was full of action and I adored the characters. Feel free to read my full review here.
That wraps up my top ten books of 2020. I’ve enjoyed a lot of books this year but these were definitely my favourite and were ones I had looked forward to reading for a long time.
Do we have any similar books in our top ten lists? What are your favourite books of 2020?
Georgia x

Oh my, I can definitely relate to the uni assignments taking over everything. I took English Literature so I even got into reading slumps from time to time. I hope you get a break soon! You deserve it! 🙂

Awesome post! I have got to read House of Earth and Blood. I am so glad you enjoyed Chain of Gold! I’ve heard some mixed things, but I hope to check it out (eventually. Trying to get through the Mortal Instruments first, lol). I didn’t like Bone Crier’s Moon quite as much as you did, but I think that’s because I spent the whole book wanting to strangle Ailesse…she got on my nerves a lot for some reason 😂. Happy new year!
