TTT: New-to-Me Authors I Read in 2020

Hi everyone, welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday! Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by ThatArtsyReaderGirl. You’ll find the rest of the topics listed on her page! This weeks topics is new-to-me authors I read in 2020.

I’m excited for this as I’ve just counted and I read books from 20 new authors! I’m going to list my ten favourites in the order that I read them.

Eight Will Fall

This was such a good read! I received this in a Fairyloot box and am not sure whether I would have picked it up otherwise!

Noughts & Crosses (Noughts & Crosses, #1)

I had this book on my tbr for ages before I read it. I read it the day before I watched the tv show as I wanted to compare them, I kind of regret that choice now! I then read the rest of the series and really want the next book to be out!

Batman: Nightwalker (DC Icons, #2)

I wish I could say I’ve read Marie Lu’s other books but I just haven’t gotten around to it yet! I really enjoyed this DC book though!

Bone Crier's Moon (Bone Grace, #1)

I loved this book so much!!! I cannot wait for the sequel! I was hooked!

Meet Me at Midnight

My favourite YA contemporary book from last year! It had enemies-to-lovers and I just loved it so much! I am now desperate to read her other books!

Tweet Cute

Another favourite from last year and it has me eager to read You Have A Match, Emma’s other book!

The Shadows Between Us

One of my top books from last year! So good, I adored the enemies-to-lovers vibe and am desperate to read it again!

Sorcery of Thorns

I’m not sure whether I’ll read her other book as I’ve heard mixed reviews but I really enjoyed this book and the library setting was gorgeous.

Kingdom of the Wicked (Kingdom of the Wicked, #1)

I loved this book so much! I cannot wait to read the sequel and am also desperate to read her Stalking Jack the Ripper series.

These Violent Delights (These Violent Delights, #1)

This book had me hooked. I could not and did not want to put it down. Chloe Gong has released the title for the sequel ‘Our Violent Ends’ and I am so excited for it!

I’m quite proud of how many new authors I read last year as I didn’t think it would be as many as that. 28 of the 65 books I read in 2020 were by authors I had never read before!

Did you read any books from these authors last year? And did you “meet” any new authors too?

Georgia x

  1. Yes to so many of these! Chloe Gone absolutely blew me away & Sorcery of Thorns was one of my favourite reads in 2019. Also love Marie Lu, I’ve read and loved her Warcross series, but I haven’t read Batman yet!

  2. I don’t think I’ve read a book by any of these authors but I’m glad you found new ones you like! Also, I’ve been eyeing These Violent Delights for some time now so I might buy it 👀😁

  3. Awesome list and several books that I’ve read are on here as well! Eight Will Fall was AMAZING, I agree…I see so little anything about it so I’m so glad you enjoyed it! And that cover, though!!!
You should totally check out Marie Lu’s other books….I love them! I’d suggest the Legend series…well okay I haven’t read many of her books. I’ve read the Legend series and the first of The Young Elites and I didn’t like that one that much. Hoping to start Skyhunter soon though!
These Violent Delights was totally awesome! I’m glad that you enjoyed it too!
    Great post!

  4. I haven’t read any of these books, but I have read Marie Lu before. (Her Warcross series… I’ve owned her Legend series for some time too, but haven’t gotten around to it.) Kathryn Purdie, Margaret Rogerson, Emma Lord, and Kerri Maniscalco are all authors I’m hoping to read from as soon as I can!
