ramblings about books and fangirling over fictional characters
I've not read masses since last week but I have read bits! I go away in two weeks so I'm hoping to read a lot on the beach (hopefully the weather is sunny)! The Three W’s are: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next?
I realise I haven't done one of these since March so it's about time I get back on it! For this weeks topic it's things getting in the way of reading and I felt like this was a very fitting choice cause my reading has definitely taken a hit this recently!
This week has been a slow reading week! I want to be back in my fantasy phase but I keep getting pulled towards the romance books! The Three W’s are: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next?
I loved this book so so much! I went in with high expectations as I adored These Violent Delights and Our Violent Ends, and Chloe Gong did not disappoint. I read this in almost one sitting because I couldn't leave these characters alone for too long.
I cannot express how much I loved this. I love fairytale retellings and To Kill a Kingdom is one of my favourite fairytale standalones so I had to read Princess of Souls which is set in the same world. It was so good and I love how Christo takes inspiration from Rapunzel and grows her story from the original, rather than keeping it so close to the story.
Nothing I say about this book will do it justice. Happy Place ripped my soul apart whilst simultaneously putting it back together. Whilst I was reading the last third (at least), I was crying. For a good hour and a half I cried over this book and even just talking about it or writing this review is making me incredibly emotional because this book hit deep and I know I'm going to be in such a slump now.
After reading and loving Unfurl and being introduced to Zach and Maddy, I knew that reading Undulate would be a blast, and it really really was.
This book was insane. I was hooked immediately and had a constant changing list of who I thought was the murderer the whole time. I was kept guessing right until the end. Don't get me wrong I had my suspicions and one of them turned out to be correct, but there were so many other possibilities that I didn't know what or who to believe.
This is the first book I've had where the main character has multiple love interests and doesn't chose between them, instead she has them all. It was only natural that I had my favourite though, and that was Levi!
It's been a great week of reading for me and I can't wait to get into more of my fantasy ARCs over the next week!
