The Prompts

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Read a later book in a series before the first

Yes I have! I did this with teh Six of Crows duology, and tbh I think it was fine but it would be nice to actually read them in order now!

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Burned a book

No! And I never will, unless it’s the end of the world or something!

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Gone into a shop to buy one book and come out with many more…

Literally last week! I went in to get two and came out with four. But it was my first bookshop trip for months so it is allowed!

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Loved a book when I was younger and hated it when I was older

Not as of yet, but I haven’t reread that many books from when I was younger. I really hope it doesn’t happen though!

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Read a book I knew I’d hate

Yes, and I did hate it afterwards too! It’s not necessarily hate I suppose, more like I knew I’d find it very boring ahah

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Wrote a fanfiction about my favourite book

I actually haven’t. Although, I did attempt to write a One Direction fanfic when I was younger, and I also read a lot of them!

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Dressed up as my favourite literary characters

All the time! Halloween and hen when I was younger for world book day! I think my favourite was Isabelle Lightwood!

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Hated a book by an author I love

It’s not happened yet! I’ve found some books to be not as interesting, but I don’t think I’ve ever hated one.

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Skim read a book

Yes, when I was trying to fit in my reread of Mockingjay and Breaking Dawn before seeing the films in the cinema!

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Pretended to read a book when I haven’t

I don’t think so? Most of the time, i just say it’s on my TBR!

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Read a book without a dust cover

I read all of the An Ember in the Ashes books without the dust covers, because I didn’t want to ruin them. Sometimes I read them with the dust cover, but as I have prettier books, I have started to take them off!

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Had a book boyfriend/girlfriend

Ermmm yes. I have about a million by now probably!

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Picked up a book based on the cover alone

Yes haha, although I don’t always buy it. I do read the blurb after it’s been picked up!

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Read the end of a book before the beginning

I don’t read the end purposefully. Although, when I first read The Selection series I had to google the ending because I couldn’t cope and I needed to know who she ended up with!

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Read a history or anthropology book for fun

I do a History degree, so it always feels like work for me! Maybe in the future I’d read one for fun but not now haha

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Participated in a readathon

I haven’t, but once it’s summer and I don’t have uni work I want to participate in one!

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Bought multiple books in a series before starting it

Yes, I am very guilty of doing this. Although I did buy All the Stars and Teeth and The Poppy War the other day without buying their sequels.

Hundreds and Thousands of Book’s Question:

NEVER HAVE I EVER: Filled up an entire bookshelf and had to have stacks of books balanced precariously throughout various rooms

Yes. Before my Dad built me two new bookcases, I had all my books doubled up on the shelves and then had about seven piles in front of them and it was like that for ages!

My Question:

Never Have I Ever: Stopped reading a series mid-way because you hated it

I tag…

Julie @ One Book More

Etta @ Chonky Books

Raji @ Worlds Unlike Our Own

I really enjoyed doing this tag! I’ve also been so busy this last week, so I’m hoping to get back on more of a schedule again!

  1. Brilliant post!! You’ve reminded me that I really want to read Ember in the ashes, and it’s really interesting that you read Crooked Kingdom first? I’m glad you weren’t too confused! And I think we’re all guilty of buying WAY too many books than we meant…

  2. Great answers!! I’m surprised you didn’t have too much trouble reading Six of Crows out of order! I want to cosplay book characters eventually, but I honestly wouldn’t know where to start and I’d probably want friends to do it with. It sounds like such a fun thing to do!
