Synopsis:

Imagine waking up in the dead of night to find your hot new neighbour dangling out of your window. What’s more, he’s clutching your tattiest bra in his hand.

What. The. Actual. Fudge.

When bad boy Alec Wilde moves in next door to Riley, sparks fly. After their ‘unconventional’ introduction, Riley is determined to get her own back. A nemesis is just the distraction she needs: inside, she’s barely holding it together. It’s game on.

But behind the banter, there’s a side to Alec that Riley actually likes. How can she get through to the real him when she can’t even take herself seriously?

My Review:

I first read this book on Wattpad back in 2013/2014 and it was one I kept returning to constantly! I tried to reread it a while ago but realised it had been published! I hadn’t planned on reading this book but I couldn’t sleep last night and wanted something addictive to read so I decided on this! I loved it and reading it was very nostalgic.

‘How can you have a beautiful ending without making beautiful mistakes?’

Whilst this book is quite light hearted in a sense of the typical high school romance, it also has an underlying topic of death as Riley is mourning the loss of her cousin. The main characters, Riley and Alec first meet when Riley wakes up in the middle of the night to see Alec, her new neighbour, stealing her favourite Mickey Mouse bra. I think this part really sets the scene for the rest of the book, in terms of the heartfelt, light romance that begins to bloom between them. There is kind of a frenemies-to-friends-to-lovers trope, and I am living for it! There is a lot of will they/won’t they scenes, which is a trait I loved in Wattpad books and still do now!

‘Whatever this is, it’s worth more than what anyone thinks of it.’

I hadn’t actually planned on finishing this book today as I only read two chapters to help me fall asleep, but this story is addictive! When I woke up this morning, I was desperate to revisit the characters and the new group that Ridley and her best friend, Violet, find themselves in. If you love swoon-worthy YA characters then you will love Alec. Yes, this book was cliché at times, but personally I think that’s one of the reasons why I read YA romance books, to escape from reality and be drawn into a cliché world! Whilst occasionally predictable, A Bad Boy Stole My Bra is the perfect, escapist read. I will 100% be reading it again!

Have you read this book? Or do you plan to ? Let me know!
